Structurwood® Radiant Barrier Sheathing

When the sun shines on a roof with standard sheathing, radiant heat penetrates through the sheathing, heating up the air in the attic space. Without a solid barrier to contain the hot air, heat penetrates through the insulation into living spaces causing room temperatures to rise. Weyerhaeuser’s Structurwood® RBS (Radiant Barrier Sheathing) foil-laminated panels are specifically designed to limit the sun’s radiant heat by reflecting the heat back outside.

Engineered with the same level of quality assurance and design specifications as our traditional Structurwood® Roof Sheathing, RBS panels include a layer of perforated foil to provide a radiant barrier that reflects the sun’s heat and radiant energy reducing attic temperatures and reducing the amount of energy needed to cool the home.
